The Matildas put aside reports of player unrest over Dutch coach Hesterine de Reus to record an impressive 2-1 triumph against Brazil leading into their AFC Asian Cup defence.
After falling 1-0 to the Samba Queens on the weekend, the Aussies rallied to square the two-game series on Wednesday at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre.
Skipper Kate Gill headed home the opener on 37 minutes before Tamires Gomes chipped goalkeeper Brianna Davey for the equaliser eight minutes after the break. With the clock ticking down, substitute Michelle Heyman capped off a brilliantly timed run to seal the win on 81 minutes.
Victory came at a cost, however. Brisbane Roar midfielder Tameka Butt was stretchered off on 65 minutes with an ankle injury and will undergo scans to determine the extent of the injury.
