Adelaide go yellow for Liverpool blockbuster

When you’ve got two teams known as the Reds going toe to toe, something’s got to give.

So Adelaide United have revealed an all-new bold yellow playing kit for their one-off blockbuster match against Liverpool FC.

It was decided that the honour of wearing the traditional red strip would be granted to the English giants, with United taking to the field in one of the primary colours of the club.

Along with the new strip, the Reds have revealed that two new partners, San Remo and Malaysia Airlines – along with existing major partner Veolia – will support United during the international spectacle.

Liverpool – England’s most successful club with 41 major honours, 18 times champions of England and 5 times champions of Europe – will be facing the A-League side on July 20 at Adelaide Oval as part of the 2015 LFC Tour.

Club Chairman Greg Griffin welcomed the corporate support for United in readiness for the highly anticipated match.

“Involvement from these types of global brands is a reflection of the strength of Adelaide United in the football world, but also highlights the opportunity for international exposure due to the profile of a team like Liverpool FC,” Griffin said.

United’s match against Liverpool will be watched by a sell-out crowd at Adelaide Oval and millions of fans worldwide.
