Hellas Verona striker Luca Toni has no idea what his future holds as he continues to be linked with an A-League move.
Adelaide United are interested in signing the 38-year-old, who netted in his team's 2-2 draw with Juventus to take his tally to a Serie A-leading 22 goals.
The Reds have admitted getting the former Italy international is a "long shot", while Verona president Maurizio Setti was confident of renewing Toni's contract.
However, uncertainty remains over Toni's future.
Coach Andrea Mandorlini's contract is expiring and director Sean Sogliano is set to leave the club.
Set to win the golden boot, Toni was asked about his future.
"The renewal? With the president, city and fans I have a special relationship," he told Hellas Verona Channel.
"I have no idea about the future but we need to see who will be there on the bench and as a director."
Setti had said re-signing Toni would be a "formality", but it appears anything but.comments
