EXCLUSIVE: Defender Zac Anderson is expected to join Sydney FC this week, FourFourTwo understands.
The former Central Coast centre-back was released by the Mariners at the end of the 2014-2015 A-League season.
Anderson played under Sky Blues coach Graham Arnold at the Mariners.
It is believed the signing of the 24-year old stopper, who made 22 appearances for Central Coast last season, will be announced later this week.
Anderson will replace defender Nikola Petkovic in the Sydney FC backline after the Serbian moved to Belgian club K.V.C. Westerlo.
A junior with Brisbane City and the Queensland Academy of Sport, Anderson debuted in the A-League with Gold Coast United in 2009.
He joined the Mariners in 2012 and was part of the club’s grand final winning-side in 2013.
The central defender, who has represented Australia at under-20 and under-23 level, has made 83 appearances in the A-League in total and 12 in the AFC Champions League.
Anderson will join former Mariners colleagues Arnold, Andrew Clark and John Crawley at the Sky Blues.comments
