In the English Premier League, Mark Schwarzer played a full match and kept a clean sheet as Leicester City played out a scoreless draw with Hull City. Mile Jedinak was missing due to suspension as Crystal Palace won 3-1 at home to relegation threatened Queens Park Rangers. Chris Herd was missing due to injury as Aston Villa eased their relegation fears with a comfortable 4-0 win away to Sunderland AFC. Curtis Good was also missing due to injury as Newcastle United lost 3-0 away to Everton FC. Jason Davidson was not in the squad for West Bromwich Albion as they beat Stoke City 1-0.

In the Championship in England, Ryan Edwards was an unused substitute while Adam Federici was not in the squad (rested for cup tie) as Reading FC lost 4-1 at Watford FC.
