Aussies Abroad weekend wrap

Aussies remain on course for promotion to the Championship in England, with Bailey Wright setting up a goal as Preston booked their place in the League One promotion final where they’ll face Massimo Luongo’s Swindon.

Meanwhile Socceroos goalkeeper Mitch Langerak continues to impress in Germany, earning another start and keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win for Borussia Dortmund.

Elsewhere, Scott McDonald scored one and set up another as Motherwell fight to avoid relegation from the Scottish Premier League, former Central Coast Mariner Mitchell Duke scored his first goal in Japan, while Billy Konstantinidis came off the bench to score an 89th minute winner in Greece.

UK

In the English Premier League, Mile Jedinak played until the 84th minute as Crystal Palace lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United. Mark Schwarzer was an unused substitute for Leicester City as they kept their survival hopes alive with a 2-0 win at home to Southampton FC. Curtis Good was missing due to injury for Newcastle United while Jason Davidson was not in the squad for West Bromwich Albion as the sides played to a 1-1 draw. Chris Herd was missing due to injury as Aston Villa won 1-0 at home to West Ham United. Brad Jones was not in the squad for Liverpool FC as they came back to secure a 1-1 draw away to newly-crowned champions Chelsea FC.
