Besart fires Roar to sixth straight home win
Roar dominated the match but in the end there was only one goal in it - a 56' strike by striker Besart Berisha.
Glory lined-up without skipper, Jacob Burns, who is serving a two-match ban, while Roar goalkeeper Michael Theo was out injured paving the way for Matt Acton to make his A-League debut five years after joining the club,
Henrique, Thomas Broich and Berisha looked dangerous from the get-go and with Perth showing fragility at the back in a 3-5-2 formation Roar ratcheted up the pressure.
Glory marksman Shane Smeltz's injury frustration continued, being subbed around the half-hour after picking up an ankle knock from Roar skipper, Matt Smith.
The visitors were under the pump for most of the first-half but Roar failed to capitalise on their chances and Glory came home strongly in the dying minutes, almost snatching the lead from a string of corners.
On the third attempt, Michael Thwaite rose above a knot of players to head the ball towards the near corner where Luke Brattan waited to pull-off a spectacular goal-line clearance.
Glory returned after the break with plenty of energy but it was Roar who broke the deadlock. Broich feeding the ball through to Berisha who shimmied round the defender before slotting the ball past the oustreched leg of Perth goalkeeper, Danny Vukovic to put Mike Mulvey's men one up on 56'.
The Albanian clearly had a taste for more and almost doubled the lead three minutes later but this time Vukovic was up to the task.
Berisha was subbed on 70' and Mulvey turned to teen sensation Kwame Yeboah, who almost had an immediate impact with on-target header that lacked the power to worry Vukovic.
The result sees Brisbane Roar breakaway at the top of the table with 18 points while Glory remain in 7th with three matches in the round still to play.
