Melbourne Victory midfielder Oliver Bozanic is ready for battle as he prepares to take on his former club the Central Coast Mariners on Thursday.
Bozanic signed for Victory in September after spending two seasons with Swiss Super League club FC Luzern.
The midfielder moved there after a three-year spell with the Mariners from 2010-2013.
The 26-year-old has played every minute of A-League action for Victory so far this season and admits he's excited to come up against his former club.
"It's another important game for us and it’s exciting to play against my old club as well," Bozanic said on Tuesday.
"I had some very good memories there but all the focus is on our next couple of days of training. We're very focused."
Victory pulled off their best result of the season on Saturday after coming from behind twice to defeat Sydney FC 4-2 at the SFS.
"We were very happy to have a big win against Sydney (and) we enjoyed it quickly but it was straight on to the next game and preparing with good recovery because we're playing again on Thursday."
Coach Kevin Muscat thinks the game against the Mariners will be a shoot-out.
"Every team goes out to make it difficult for tje opposition. We've got our own way of making things difficult and that's by scoring more goals than them," Muscat said on Wednesday.
"They've got a different approach now and I'm looking forward to it. It'll be an entertaining game. There will certainly be some chances and I dare say some goals."
Victory welcome back their Olyroos stars but are still set to be without Carl Valeri (soreness) and Jason Geria (quad).
"We gain a few bodies but we'll not be at 100 per cent," Muscat added.comments
