Cirio named Reds' club champion

Adelaide United forward Sergio Cirio clinched the Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion Award on Friday night.

The Spaniard was rewarded for his fine season with the club's highest individual honour, having impressed for the A-League's semi-finalists.

Cirio started every A-League and FFA Cup game for the Reds, who claimed the latter trophy, and netted seven league goals.

"Firstly, it’s a honour to win this award for such a great club," Cirio said.

"I want to say thank you to every one of my team-mates, because I couldn’t have done it without you.

"Also thank you to the club for giving me the opportunity to play here in Australia, and of course, to my partner Laura because she follows and supports me everywhere I go."
