Double assist for McBreen
McBreen, who is on loan at Shanghai from Central Coast, headed on for Zhu Zhengrong to open the scoring in the first minute.
The Australian striker laid off for Wu Lei to fire home the second on 11 minutes.
Shanghai raced to a three-goal lead before the break and it could’ve been more when McBreen got in behind the defence and found Luis Cabezas who hit the post.
McBreen would eventually be replaced just short of the hour mark, while Bernie Ibini was an unused substitute.
In UAE on Friday night, Alex Brosque had an excellent impact off the bench as he continues his recovery from groin surgery as Al Ain lost 4-3 to Al Dhafra.
Brosque was introduced in the 66th minute with his side 2-1 down and they would go further behind two minutes later.
However, the Australian added verve and an attacking purpose to their passing, leading to two goals which made it 3-3 before Emmanuel Clottey’s 84th minute winner.
