Double Disney triumph for Aussie All-Stars

It was a double delight for the Foxtel All-Stars U12s when both the boys and girls divisions took out the Disney Cup International 2014 tournament in Florida.

The Outback Rangers (boys) defeated Dandy Town Youth Academy from Bermuda 3-1, while the Kickin’ Koalas (girls) comfortably accounted for Cordica from Mexico 5-1 in an exciting double-header on Sunday.

It was an outstanding result, and a little piece of history-making football, for the youngsters who had only trained together for three days before playing five matches including the final.

Under the guidance of Socceroo legend Tim Cahill the budding stars came together from all over Australia.

All 20 players performed exceptionally well during the tournament, proving too fast, skillful and determined for their rivals.

They defeated every team on the road to the deciders, including outfits from Colombia, Bermuda, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Honduras and the USA.

Waving the Aussie flag from the sidelines was an enthusiastic knot of families who cheered the youngsters through every kick of the ball.

Disney XD has been filming the Foxtel All-Stars journey from the initial selection through to the tournament decider capturing the team’s incredible experiences and victories. The Disney Cup International TV special will air on Foxtel on August 15 from 6pm on channel 708.
