Epic match sets up Aussie Wembley showdown

Socceroo Massimo Luongo is set for an all-Aussie fight for promotion to the English Championship after Swindon Town won through to the League One play-off final this morning.

In a crazy game at the County Ground, Swindon held off a fast-finishing Sheffield United to draw 5-5, holding on for a 7-6 win on aggregate.

The Socceroo midfielder played the full game and set up the Robins’ crucial fifth goal for Jonathan Obika six minutes from time.

That goal made it 5-3 on the night before Sheffield United scored twice in two minutes to get within one goal of forcing extra-time.

The result means Luongo’s Swindon will take on Bailey Wright and Neil Kilkenny’s Preston North End in the play-off final at Wembley in a fortnight for a spot in the Championship.

Elsewhere, Tom Rogic continued his impressive end to the campaign, getting through 71 minutes of Celtic Development side's 4-3 loss to St Mirren.

Rogic, who was on the bench for Celtic’s first-team on the weekend, set up the Bhoys’ opening goal and was at the heart of a lot of their best attacks in the first half.

In Holland, Luke Wilkshire was an unused substitute as his Feyenoord were crushed 4-1 at home by Vitesse Arnhem.
