PS4 NPL NSW high-flyers Blacktown City will look to transfer their astonishing domestic form to the national stage as reigning Australian PS4 NPL champions MetroStars travel to Sydney for an opening night cracker.

The South Australian club wants to continue their state’s impressive record in the Westfield FFA Cup and prove their 2014 success was no flash in the pan.

But Blacktown have a squad packed with attacking flair and Hyundai A-League experience and motivated by the scars from their exit at the same stage against Bentleigh Greens last year.

Get set for a pulsating clash at Lily's Football Centre in Sydney’s west of Sydney as the Westfield FFA Cup returns with a bang in 2015.

Travis Major (Blacktown City striker)

“We’re pretty dynamic and quick all over the field and we’ve some real technical players who are also workhorses in midfield.

“No one is worried about the individual exposure, we just want to go as far in this competition as we can.

“Last year is definitely a driving force. Bentleigh came here and hit us on the break early on and then sat back and we couldn’t break them down despite hitting them with wave after wave of attack, so we definitely want to go one better last year because that was gut-wrenching.”

Michael Pirone (MetroStars coach)

“It’s not going to be easy but this is why you play to be involved in these games.

“The boys want to do well and get through because you might not get to play in something like this again. There’s a real wave of excitement through the club from the junior teams right through to the seniors.”

“I’m of the belief that if you don’t concede, you don’t lose. Blacktown like to play really open with the players they have…we’re going away from home and we have to be disciplined. If we defend well I’m quietly confident.”
