Football Film Festival coming to Brisbane and Melbourne!

Following the overwhelming success of the opening weekend in Sydney, Football Film Festival now takes to the road with some superb local and international football films on offer.

Brisbane will be the first port of call this weekend and Melbourne the following week. Australia’s first football specific film festival –  not to be missed!.

Brisbane Roar maestro Thomas Broich headlines the Football Film Festival in Brisbane. Tom Meets Zizou documents seven years in the life of a young Broich, following a young man with a dream, in his native Germany.

The A-league star will be joined on stage after the film by countryman Jerome Polenz.

The exceptional Gascoigne documentary opens the Festival on Saturday October 31 – leaving plenty of time to get to the Roar match.

Then Ken Loach's masterpiece Looking for Eric merges fact with fiction with a star turn from the irrepressible Mr Cantona to close.

Step back a decade with the 2005 high-flying Socceroos to close the Football Film Festival in Melbourne on Sunday 8 November.

The world-premiere November 16 looks at the famous night a decade ago when Australia snatched away the final spot at the 2006 FIFA World Cup from the much fancied Uruguayans.

Producers Richard Bayliss and Ben Coonan will be joined by legendary Socceroo Alan Davidson for a discussion after the film.

Once again the exceptional Gascoigne documentary will open the Festival on Friday November 6, with Melbourne-based creatives Good Sport presenting an award-winning football classic A Wonderful Season of Failure on Saturday 7th followed by a panel discussion on football culture.
