FOURFOURTWO Australia magazine has signed a partnership with SBS that will see the next issue sport the SBS logo and feature columns from the SBS team with Les and Fozz starring in the next issue out October 10.
The new co-branded format of the magazine will feature exclusive SBS content, including columns from SBS personalities such as Craig Foster and Les Murray and other stars of the on-air team such as Lucy Zelic.
And each month we'll include an SBS TV football guide so you can keep up with all the A-League, European and international football coverage.
And for this first issue out October 10, FourFourTwo has produced a special masthead to commemorate the partnership and the first airing of an A-League game on free to air TV with a limited edition front cover featuring the SBS 2 logo that will be for subscribers only.
As the official free-to-air broadcaster of the A-League – with a live match every Friday night, weekly highlights and the new football entertainment program Thursday FC starring Lucy Zelic, David Zdrilic and Matt Okine – there is no media organisation better placed to partner with FourFourTwo magazine than SBS TV.
Timed to coincide with the start of A-League season nine kicking off on SBS 2, the co-branded FourFourTwo will launch a cross-platform marketing campaign encompassing TV, online, social media and direct marketing to highlight the new partnership.
SBS Head of Sport, Ken Shipp, said he was delighted with the partnership.
“I’m always looking for new opportunities and this was a logical partnership given FourFourTwo’s strength and expertise in the global football magazine market.
“It’s the ideal time to work together while football in Australia is at its tipping point. FourFourTwo is a fantastic brand and by bringing these two strong brands together, we will grow the football media landscape.”
Andy Jackson, Brand Director of FourFourTwo, was equally excited and said the partnership comes at a time of growth in football across the country.
“This has been a long time in the making and I’m delighted that we now have a formal partnership with SBS at such an exciting time for both our businesses,” he said.
“With the A-League broadcast free to air on SBS for the first time this season, leading into a third successive FIFA World Cup for the Socceroos, this is the perfect time for us to join forces.
“The whole team at FourFourTwo is extremely excited by this opportunity and the increased reach this partnership will deliver to the FourFourTwo brand in Australia.”
