Adelaide United shot-stopper Eugene Galekovic is nearing a return from injury after missing the start of the A-League season.
Galekovic has not played since September after under-going knee surgery but is aiming to make a return this weekend.
Adelaide team-mate Jimmy Jeggo hailed the skipper's impact on the team and hopes he can return as soon as possible.
"It will be a massive plus," he said. "He is arguably the best goalkeeper in the league and gives you a huge amount of confidence knowing that he's behind you.
"He's captain for a reason."
Adelaie have had an extremely poor start to the season - picking up just two points from their opening six games of the season.
21-year-old back-up John Hall has been in goals but they have conceded 14 goals in four consecutive losses in the league.
"It's not good enough to be this far into the season with only two points," Jeggo said.
"It's very frustrating. There is no hiding that the boys are frustrated. You can see it.
"That frustration is borne out of us wanting to do well and knowing that we're not doing ourselves justice at the moment. We have just got to fuel that frustration and keep working hard.
"You look at the amount of goals we have conceded. It's not good enough.
"And that is not putting blame on the defenders at all. As a team we have not been defending well enough."
Jeggo bemoaned the amount of uncharacteristic errors the side have been making so far this season.
"In key moments of games, at small things we keep letting ourselves down," he said. "Once we cut those mistakes out and tighten up on a few things, there are bits of games that have been positive.
"At this level you can't get away with making those mistakes."
