Goodwin off to chase Dutch dream

Adelaide's player of the season Craig Goodwin is the latest player to head for the exits at Coopers Stadium with the flyer set to join Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam.

The Dutch club has recently achieved top flight status and their head coach Alex Pastoor believes Goodwin is a perfect match for the club.

FourFourTwo understands that the player will undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with a third year as an option.

“Craig is a multi-purpose player who can cover the entire left side and also cause the right side of the attack to be a threat,” Pastoor said.

“He is a pro who is full of ambition and is hungry to develop. That mentality suits Sparta Rotterdam."

Goodwin had a superb season with the Reds, playing a key role in their Premiership and Championship double.

He scored four goals and had four assists playing predominantly at left-back and also took out the Aurelio Vidmar medal as Adelaide’s Player of the Year.
