Griffin's team of the week

As we close in on the run ot the finals, Griffin McMaster pinpoints this week's top performers in his latest team of the week.

GK Eugene Galekovic (Adelaide United)
The Adelaide glovesman keeps doing his job every week. Kept another solid clean sheet. His sound performances have been a factor in getting Adelaide to third on the table.

DL Sam Gallaway (Newcastle Jets)
Solid performance at left back from the young defender. Were nervous moments towards the end for the side, however he was well composed and definitely deserving of his selection in team of the week.

DC Nigel Boogard (Adelaide United)
Tall commanding centre back that produced a top line performance for his side. Always a presence at the back and helped his team keep a clean sheet.

DC Rob Wielart (Melbourne Heart)
Outstanding performance from the Dutchman in a dominating 5-0 display. The captain was everywhere in defence and patrolled his position very well.

DR Josh Brillante (Newcastle Jets)
Did his job well at the back in a 1-0 win over Roar. Tracked back well and helped keep the defence very compact.

DM Orlando Engelaar (Melbourne Heart)
Opened the scoring and helped set up a goal in a great display in the middle of the park. The tall midfielder is back to his best after a lengthy lay-off injury with a fractured tibia.

MC Terry Antonis (Sydney FC)
The young midfielder had a great match and helped his side in a 2-1 win over Perth Glory. He combined plenty of passes and also got on the scoresheet.

MC Marcelo Carrusca (Adelaide United)
Starred in a dominating performance against the Mariners on Friday night. Is one of the best players in the league (behind Broich), his skills are silky and coolly slotted home the opener.

SC Ranko Despotovic (Sydney FC)
Is proving to be one of the deadliest strikers in the A-League. Again got on the score sheet and win the match 2-1. Is very sharp and poses a big threat for any defense.

SC David Williams (Melbourne Heart)
Is one of the form players of the competition. His sublime hat trick has got fans alike in the A-League thinking this guy can help guide Heart into the finals.

SC Fabio Ferreira (Adelaide United)
Scored a wonder goal last week and again converted against the Mariners on Friday. Is in great form and at this rate will play finals and be a danger player to watch.
