Hersi leaves Perth Glory
The 32-year-old joined Glory in May last year after a successful stint with the Western Sydney Wanderers.
But injuries ruined Hersi's campaign in Perth, who were found guilty of breaching the salary cap and sent to seventh on the A-League table.
The former Netherlands youth international's exit follows the departure of goalkeeper Jack Duncan, while midfielder Rostyn Griffiths is also set to leave.
"I would like to thank the club and the fans who have all been a great support for me this year," Hersi said in a statement released by the club.
First-choice shot-stopper Danny Vukovic, captain Michael Thwaite and forward Jamie Maclaren are all reportedly pushing to leave.
But Glory told FourFourTwo on Friday simply that the trio were all contracted players.
