Socceroo James Troisi has officially signed with Belgian Pro League outfit SV Zulte Waregem the club announced on Friday.
Troisi was courted by a number of A-League clubs when his loan deal at Melbourne Victory expired but elected to stay in Europe, penning a two-year deal in Belgium.
The 26-year-old represented Australia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup but was deemed surplus to requirements at Serie A champions Juventus.
Troisi admitted speaking to Club Brugge goalkeeper and Socceroo teammate Mat Ryan before signing with Waregem.
"I'm knowledgeable about Belgian football and Zulte Waregem and I was immediately convinced," Troisi told Zulte Waregem's website.
"Zulte Waregem is a club with healthy ambitions.
"Also my countryman Mathew Ryan of Club Brugge told me many positive things about the Belgian league. I want my experience to live up to the ambitions of Zulte Waregem."
The Belgian club currently sit 13th on the table after five games with only one win.
They were also recently knocked out of the 3rd round of qualifying for the Europa League by Belarusian club FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk.
Zulte's next game is Sunday morning (AEST) away to 3rd placed Westerlo.
