Jamieson: Wanderers should have won

Western Sydney Wanderers defender Scott Jamieson said his team should’ve taken three points against Adelaide on Saturday night.

In a battle befitting the two Premiership aspirants, they played out a tense 0-0 draw.

The Wanderers now go one point clear at the top of the table.

But Jamieson feels the fast-finishing Wanderers should’ve broke down the Reds defence in the latter stages of the clash at Wanderland to claim a win.

Wanderers and Reds draw...again

“I don’t know how many chances the stats show, but we should’ve won that clear and simple. And we haven’t.

“But we go top now. And it’s still in our hands so that’s a positive.

“Fair play to them (Reds), they’ve come here with a game plan and it was clear they came here for a point,” he told ABC Radio.

Wanderers coach Tony Popovic echoed those sentiments saying his team dominated the game.

“Tonight was one of those nights we dominated,” he told Fox Sports.

.”Players were excellent and we did everything but put the ball in the back of the net.

“It’s a shame we didn’t get what we deserved but on the other hand we had another clean sheet and really restricted them to very little.

"And at the end we really tried to win the game. But we couldn't put it in the back of the net."

Wanderers now face Victory next Friday night in Melbourne.
