Kalik secures four-year Hajduk contract

Young Socceroos midfielder Anthony Kalik has signed a four-year permanent deal with Croatian powerhouse Hajduk Split.

Parent club Central Coast will earn AU$50,000 from the deal after the 18-year-old had joined Hajduk on a six-month loan in February.

Kalik still had another year on his Mariners contract and follows the likes of Mat Ryan, Mustafa Amini, Tom Rogic and Trent Sainsbury as a young talent leaving Central Coast permanently for a European club.

Hajduk boss Damir Buric took a liking to the ex- Sydney FC junior after his arrival, using him regularly in central midfield.

Kalik impressed with 12 appearances for the club, including nine starts in the second half of the 2015-16 season.

Hajduk finished third in the Croatian Prva HNL, qualifying for the Europa League second qualifying round.
