Massimo Luongo is still physically recovering from the 2015 Asian Cup according to Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper who is sweating on the Socceroo’s fitness.
Luongo is battling a groin injury after having to be replaced in Saturday’s League One game with quarter of an hour remaining.
The 2015 Asian Cup Player of the Tournament is subsequently in doubt for Wednesday morning’s league clash with Doncaster Rovers.
“Mass has a bit of a stiff groin, probably the effects of the Asian Cup still, and we took him off to protect that,” Cooper told the Swindon Advertiser.
Luongo has played seven games, scoring three goals but providing no assists since returning to England after the Asian Cup in Australia.
The 22-year-old’s performances for the Socceroos have made him hot property, with clubs such as Sevilla reportedly showing interest.comments
