MacDonald departs Forest

EXCLUSIVE: Australian forward Josh MacDonald has left Championship club Nottingham Forest.

MacDonald, who moved to the UK last year from Sydney FC, confirmed to FourFourTwo that he had departed Forest.

The former Joeys representative played for the club’s under-21s but did not make a first-team appearance.

MacDonald scored one goal in seven matches for the under-21s last season.

A Forest spokesman told FourFourTwo that MacDonald’s contract with the club expires on Wednesday.

The 19-year old, who hails from the Illawarra, is believed to be staying in the UK to hunt for a new club.

MacDonald is a product of Unanderra Hearts and then the Sutherland Sharks.

He then spent time with the Sky Blues’ National Youth League side.
