Meredith courted by Australian interest

Bradford City fullback James Meredith is in demand from several A-League clubs.

The Socceroo defender has one year left on his contract at Bradford, which finishes at the end of the 2016/2017 season.

The Bantams were recently knocked out of the League One play-offs by Millwall.

At 28 years of age and with one Socceroo cap to his name, Meredith would be a handy pick-up for an A-League side.

A speedy left back who can also play on the left of midfield, Meredith has spent his full professional career in the UK.

He joined Derby County as a 16-year old and has worked his way up England’s football league pyramid.

Meredith has spent the past four years with Bradford, making his international debut for Australia last year against Kyrgyzstan.

Last season he made 47 appeara1nces for the Bantams in all competitions, scoring one goal and setting up four.

Meredith joined Bradford in 2012 from York City and helped them achieve promotion from League Two.
