Former Adelaide United flyer Awer Mabil says he’s hoping for more games after making his FC Midtjylland debut overnight in the Danish Cup.
Mabil, 20, got half an hour off the bench in Midtjylland’s comfortable 3-0 cup win away to second tier Næstved.
“I hope to get more games, but the team is doing well, so it’s hard to break into the team,” Mabil told FCM.TV.
“I’ve just to keep pushing for a spot and keep working hard to help the team when I get my chance.”

The Olyroo, who joined the Danish champions in July, had to make a speech pre-game to his team-mates to mark his club debut.
“It was alright for me, because I’ve done it before,” he laughed. “I was nervous but it was good.”
Earlier this week, Mabil spoke to FourFourTwo discussing the initial challenges of settling at a new club in a foreign country, particularly without being able to break into the side.
Mabil has been signed on a five-year deal so the club have a long-term view for him. He has been told by the coaching staff to improve the defensive side of his game.
“It was a good feeling to finally for Midtjylland,” Mabil added.
“It’s a great club, it was a great result for the boys. We’ve been working hard, so it was good to get the opportunity.”
Midtjylland are next in action on Sunday against Mustafa Amini and Jack Duncan’s club Randers in the Superliga.comments
