New Socceroo Inman in Crewe contract limbo

Newly called-up Socceroo Bradden Inman’s future isn’t clear after his relegated club Crewe Alexandra revealed they are in ongoing discussions on a new deal.

Crewe finished last in England’s third tier this season, meaning they’ll play next term in League Two.

Inman, 24, was one of the side’s best performers, netting 10 goals in 39 appearances from midfield and should have options in the off-season.

His form has led to his maiden Socceroos call-up on Wednesday for the upcoming friendly against England in Sunderland.

Crewe provided details of the players released and those offered new terms for 2016-17 on Tuesday evening, with Inman listed as having “ongoing discussions”. The club has released 11 players.

Inman, who has under-age caps with Scotland, hails from Adelaide but spent time with Premier League club Newcastle as a youngster.
