The Olyroos will compete in a four-nation tournament against Brazil, China and South Korea during this month’s upcoming international break.
FourFourTwo understands the FFA will announce the tournament next week, with the matches to take place in mid-to-late November.
The four-nation tournament ushers in the start of preparations for Australia’s Under-23s ahead of their 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics qualifying campaign.
AFC qualification rounds for Rio commence in March 2015, before the AFC Under-22 Championship in January 2016 which will decide which three nations earn a berth in Brazil.
The Olyroos did not make London 2012 after failing to register a single goal in the final round of qualifying and finishing last in their group.
Among the big names in Aurelio Vidmar’s side are Curtis Good, Josh Brillante and Adam Taggart.comments
