Adelaide United will be without central defender Osama Malik for a month after he was ruled out with a hamstring tear.
The Adelaide Advertiser reported that Malik will miss up to four weeks after suffering the injury in the club's 0-0 draw with Newcastle Jets on Sunday.
Malik had to be substituted after just eight minutes in the A-League clash, with Jordan Elsey coming on in his place.
The draw ended Adelaide's run of four consecutive defeats but the club are still winless after the opening seven games of the season.
It does not get any easier for Guillermo Amor's men with their next test coming against the reigning champions Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Adelaide have not won against Victory at Etihad Stadium since 2006, when Greg Owens scored an 83rd minute goal to seal a 1-0 win for the South Australians.comments
