Perth linked to ex-Millwall striker Keogh

Perth Glory are said to be chasing the signature of ex-Millwall forward Andy Keogh to boost their attacking stocks ahead of the 2014-15 A-League campaign.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international has played for a host of clubs including Scunthorpe, Leeds United and Wolverhampton.

He joined Blackpool on-loan in January and made 14 appearances, scoring three goals to help the Seasiders secure their Championship survival.

A free agent since his contract ended at Millwall, Keogh is also linked to newly promoted Brentford who are looking to strengthen their squad before the new Championship season kicks-off.

According to the UK Daily Mail, Glory coach Kenny Lowe showed interest in the Dubliner as a possible replacement for Kiwi hitman Shane Smeltz who left the WA outfit to sign a one-year deal with Sydney FC.

Lowe reportedly joined other coaches in Cardiff last weekend to revalidate his Pro Licence badge and has been scouting potential signings in the UK including League One Aussies Neil Kilkenny and James Wesolowski.

Goal-shy Glory finished eighth in the league last season and were the lowest scorers, hitting the back of the net just 28 times.
