Phoenix vs Glory: Player Ratings

Jamie Maclaren left it late to secure a 2-1 win for Perth Glory against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday. Check out who Griffin McMaster rated best on ground at Westpac Stadium.

Wellington Phoenix

Glen Moss: Got caught out a little off a Mitch Nichols cross. Made a routine save to his left off a Nichols volley. McGlinchey’s goal was something else - 6
Thomas Doyle: Was replaced after the hour mark on his Phoenix debut. Did not stand out - 6
Andy Durante: First goal not totally his fault but overall did his job - 6.5
Ben Sigmund: Could have done better on the first goal in regards to marking. Coughed up possession for the second goal - 5
Manny Muscat: Passing and movement is always solid however he did not provide much going forward - 6
Alex Gorrin: Showed glimpses. Touched plenty of the ball but a lot going sideways - 6
Roly Bonevacia: I liked him. Had some half chances to score and could be a player that provides well to the A-League. Solid engine - 7
Albert Riera: Was not outstanding but a lot more to come from him for sure - 6.5
Jeremy Brockie: A very quiet night for the Kiwi - 5.5
Nathan Burns: Had a couple of chances and got into good areas. Had a golden one on one but could not capitalize. Needs a bit of time to adjust to new surroundings - 6.5
Michael McGlinchey: Scored a tap-in from five yards. Will take a bit of time to get used to playing in this team in the central role - 6.5

Louis Fenton: Came on after 61 minutes. Set up Wellington’s only goal. Promising. Needs to start - 7.5
Vince Lia: Did not have a lot to do coming on in the 80th minute - 6
Roy Krishna: 90th minute sub - N/A

Perth Glory

Danny Vukovic: Solid. Pulled off a great one-on-one save, then his side scored minutes later. Could not do much in the goal against him - 7.5
Joshua Risdon: Quite good. First game back from a long lay-off with injury - 7.5
Scott Jamieson: Very composed on the ball and is a part of a back four that could gel as one of the best defences in the league - 7.5
Dino Djulbic: Has added good strength to the back-line. Great partnership with Thwaite and made some important interceptions - 8
Michael Thwaite: Same as Djulbic, he was solid. Could have been a little tighter on his marker for the Wellington goal but it was a 50/50 - 7.5
Richard Garcia: Played more central in a diamond midfield and did his job well - 7
Mitch Nichols: Set up a goal and hit some good long range hits. Tried to keep the ball - 8
Rostyn Griffths: Has a high work rate and always puts himself about with challenges but was lucky not to be sent off - 7
Nebojsa Marinkovic: Was alright. Can deliver a good set piece and should provide some goals for Perth this season - 7
Youssouf Hersi: Found getting in to the game difficult - 6
Andy Keogh: Scored on debut and looked promising - 7.5

Jamie McLaren: Scored their winner and was unlucky not to be starting. Victim of Kenny Lowe's one up front tactic - 7.5
