Ryan Griffiths set to seal South China switch

Former Socceroo Ryan Griffiths is set to seal a move to Hong Kong club South China AA.

Griffiths, who spent this year with Sarawak in the Malaysian Super League, is expected to move to Shaolin Temple in the coming days

Also on South China AA’s books is Liberian-Australian striker Jerry Karpeh.

In the past the likes of former English Premier League stars Nicky Butt and Mateja Kezman have played for the Hong Kong side.

The 2015/16 Hong Kong Premier League season started in September and South China AA is in second place on the table with four wins from four matches.

Griffiths has played in China before with Liaoning, Beijing Guoan and Beijing Baxy.

The 34-year old forward told FourFourTwo recently that he has no plans to retire.

"I’m still feeling fit and I don’t think it’s time for me to hang them up yet," Griffiths said last month.

"I haven’t really thought about that actually. I still feel good, I’m finishing games and scoring goals.

"They’re the main things, once you start slowing down and doing that then that’s when you have to think about hanging them up.

"Until I feel pain after games or like I can’t do it anymore, that’s when I’ll be done. But not even thinking about that at the moment."
