Sarota returns to Utrecht

Fringe Socceroo Adam Sarota has ended his loan stint at Brisbane Roar and will return to Holland with parent club FC Utrecht.

The 26-year-old re-joined the three-time Hyundai A-League Champions in September after spending three seasons at the club from 2008-10.

He returned to the Roar in search of first-team football and made 12 appearances for the club throughout the 2014/15 season.

Meanwhile, youngsters Kofi Danning, Ben Litfin and Jesse Daley have all been released, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

Midfielder George Lambadaridis' contract with the Roar has also not been renewed. The 23-year-old appeared in eight Hyundai A-League matches for the club over three seasons.

Brisbane Roar will tackle Spanish outfit Villarreal in a LFP World Club Challenge match at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday June 3.
