Massimo Luongo’s Swindon Town have reportedly rejected a AU$1 million offer from Championship club Rotherham United for the Socceroo’s services.
The Sydney-born 21-year-old was part of Australia’s 2014 World Cup squad after an impressive 2013-14 campaign with League One outfit Swindon Town.
It was expected Luongo, who has two years to run on his Swindon contract, would attract interest this off-season.
BBC Wiltshire has reported Rotherham tabled a AU$1.022m bid for the ex-Tottenham midfielder but the Robins turned it down.
According to the report, Swindon chairman Lee Power said the offer was “a long way short” of their valuation for the Australian.
Luongo made 53 appearances for the Robins who narrowly missed the League One play-offs last term.
Rotherham were promoted to England’s second tier via the playoffs in 2013-14.
