Graham Arnold is expected to be unveiled as the eighth coach of Sydney FC on Thursday after signing a three-year deal.
It is understood Arnold, who rejected lucrative overtures from the Sky Blues at the end of the 2011-12 season, has finally been wooed by the harbour-siders.
The former title-winning coach of the Central Coast Mariners is expected to be given a free rein at the club in a deal worth $1.8 million, The Australian reports.
Newcastle Jets were said to be close to securing the serviced of the 50-year-old but pulled out of the race earlier this week before announcing the appointment of Phil Stubbins.
In November last year Arnold signed with J-League outfit Vegalta Sendai but parted ways with the club five months later after a disappointing winless run.
Sydney recently dumped Frank Farina out of the hot seat after he failed to get the club past the first round of the finals.comments
