Taggart on target for Fulham

Socceroo striker Adam Taggart continues his solid return to form after scoring for Fulham in their come from behind 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin overnight.

The Championship club, on a tour of Austria, went two goals down to the German side before the former A-League Golden Boot’s close range header reduced the deficit.

Cauley Woodrow completed the fightback at the Athletic Arena Schladming.

Taggart has clearly heeded the words of Fulham manager Kit Symons who challenged the 22-year-old to take his chances in pre-season.

Last week the seven-time Socceroo came off the bench and almost scored in Fulham's 3-1 win over Crawley Town.

He is yet to make a senior appearance for the Championship club and his 2014-15 was ruined by injuries.

Symons said the former Newcastle Jet was getting his chances.

“It’s an opportunity for people," he told the club's website after the win over the League Two side.

"'Tags' had a stinking season with injuries last term, it was really frustrating for him.

"But he’s come back, worked hard and he’s been bright and aggressive. He’s been given an opportunity and we’ll have to see if he takes it."
