Newcastle Jets striker and Serbian import Milos Trifunovic has left the club immediately after a mutual termination of his contract.
Trifunovic, whose contract with the Jets was due to end at the completion of the current Hyundai A-League campaign, has expressed his desire to take up an opportunity abroad.
Trifunovic played 22 games and scored nine goals for Newcastle Jets.
His departure now opens up an international visa on Newcastle's roster for the the 2016/17 season.
The striker leaves the club as their leading goal scorer having scored nearly half of their 23 goals this season.
Newcastle face Brisbane Roar and Central Coast Mariners in their final two matches of the season.
