A jubilant Melbourne Victory Chairman Anthony Di Pietro has already turned his attention to the AFC Champions League.
Following Victory’s stunning 3-0 demolition of Sydney in Sunday’s Grand Final, Di Pietro said it was time to replicate that success in Asia.
And the Premiership-Championship winning club have set their sights on emulating Western Sydney Wanderers 2014 triumph.
“We’ve qualified for the Asian Champions League and we think that we’ve learnt a lot from the past,” Di Pietro told a-league.com.au.
“We think West Sydney have led the way and set a great example and a pathway. And we want to be the next to get in there and showcase what Australia can produce.
“There’s not a measure now that we’re not the strongest club – from Grand Final winners, Premiers’ Plate, crowds, broadcast, membership – and we want to bring that through to Asia."comments
