Wanderers bite the Bulut

Western Sydney Wanderers today announced the signing of Kerem Bulut and Sam Gallaway for the upcoming AFC Champions League kicking off at the end of February.

Bulut is a fast and skilful striker who made his name in Australia with nine goals in 11 matches for the Australian U19 team that came runners up at the 2010 AFC U19 Asian Cup before going on to score in the FIFA U/20 World Cup in 2011.

At 22 and hailing from Western Sydney, Bulut will have the opportunity to reignite his goalscoring form that had him pinned as one of the Socceroos of the future at a club in his own backyard.

Also 22, Gallaway, a Coffs Harbour junior and product of the Australian Institute of Sport, will join the Club following four seasons at the Newcastle Jets.

A strong and competitive left back with a great work ethic, Gallaway has all the attributes for the Wanderers and could become a key player in the Wanderers Champions League title defence.

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas was very positive about both signings in the lead up to what will be a busy four months for the Club.

“Last season we got the chance to add to our roster before our first entry into the Champions League and that is exactly what we are doing now with the signing of some new and very exciting young players,” said Tsatsimas.

“We welcome both Sam and Kerem to a new phase of the football career and have no doubt they will enjoy their time at the Wanderers and provide vital contributions to the rest of our current season”.

Both Bulut and Gallaway are only be eligible for the ACL 2015 campaign which commences in late February.

The two players will join the Wanderers at their Novotel Elite Training Centre in Coffs Harbour this week for the commencement of five day preparation camp.
