Scott Jamieson's move to Western Sydney has been confirmed, with the former Perth Glory full-back signing a two-year deal with the Wanderers.
There were two pieces of good news for the 2014 Asian champions as Jonathan Aspropotamitis signed a first-team deal.
Auburn native Jamieson was released from his Glory deal on Thursday, with the Wanderers his speculated destination.
The Wanderers confirmed the signing of the 26-year-old four-time Socceroo on Sunday.
“We’re bringing another Western Sydney international home,” Wanderers chief executive John Tsatsimas said in a statement.
“The Wanderers aim to inspire and provide a pathway for the youth of western Sydney and having another one of our own in the first team helps show them what is possible.
“Scott has had a standout season at Perth Glory and we’re delighted to have him on board. He can play anywhere on the left flank and will add strength to our defensive and attacking stocks.”
Aspropotamitis enjoyed several assured displays in the centre of defence after making his senior debut in round 10.
Tsatsimas said Aspropotamitis had impressed at the Wanderers.
“Jonathan has impressed everyone at the club with his attitude and application since bursting onto the scene this year," he said.
“He has done well and is further testament to our commitment to youth as one of five debutants from the youth team this season as well as one of eight current Young Socceroos at the Wanderers.”comments
