The Young Socceroos conceded two late goals to draw 2-2 against Mexico in a friendly at Jubilee Oval on Sunday night.
Brisbane Roar duo Brandon Borrello and Shannon Brady had Paul Okon's men ahead against Mexico, who are heading to New Zealand for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup.
But the Young Socceroos conceded twice in the final eight minutes as Mexico came away with a draw.
Mexico had scored a half-hour in, but it was ruled out for offside.
Soon after, the hosts were ahead as Borrello converted a penalty after being brought down by the Mexico goalkeeper.
A fine move led to a second for Australia as Brady finished after neat lead-up play from Daniel De Silva.
Mexico fought back and, after pulling one goal back, they netted from the penalty spot to earn a draw.
The Young Socceroos will meet Brazil in Wollongong on Wednesday.
