It was Jean-Marc Bosman in 1995 that changed the way that transfers would be conducted forever. Thanks to an uncapped Belgian midfielder, players would be able to move anywhere without a transfer fee.

Real Madrid have signed David Alaba for nothing, while rivals Barcelona are cramming Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia into their squad - with no transfer fee for any of them. PSG aren't exactly strapped for cash but they've taken advantage of those who are, pouncing on Gigio Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos.
