All 16 qualified teams finally learned their fate for the group stage in the 2014 Malaysia Cup, which will kick off on August 13.
The draw, which opened with cheques presentation to league winners and the Golden Boots conferral at Institut Sukan Negara in Bukit Jalil, saw defending champions Pahang being drawn into Group A alongside LionsXII, Johor Darul Takzim II and Felda United, whom they defeated earlier this season in the FA Cup final.
Four-time winners Penang will play in their first Malaysia Cup competition since 2009 but face a tough group consisting of 2014 Super League winners Johor Darul Takzim I, 2013 Malaysia Cup finalists Kelantan and ATM.
2014 Super League runners-up Selangor arguably have a more favourable draw in Group C in terms of location, needing only to travel out of the Klang Valley once to face T-Team in Kuala Terengganu, while Group B will see Terengganu, Sarawak, Perak and Kedah all making long distance travels.
All 16 teams will be aiming to reach the final showdown on November 8 to win the prestigious trophy.
