Vincent Bikana has issued an apology for the ball clearance that injured Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) star Patito Rodriguez.
The Terengganu defender accidentally struck Rodriguez with a routine ball clearance during last Tuesday's Malaysian Super League match, causing the Argentine to be ruled out of action for three months.
On his Facebook page, Bikana insisted that he did not intentionally harm Rodriguez.
“I sincerely want to apologise to Patito Rodriguez on what had happened in Larkin during the match last Tuesday,” he wrote on Saturday.
“I would like to express sympathy for what happened to him.
“When the incident happened, I just wanted to clear the ball out of the goal area, [but] unfortunately the ball hit his foot.
“I had absolutely no intention of hurting him.
“With humility, I would once again like to apologise to Patito.
