Jorge Pereyra Diaz has made a surprise return to former club Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
The 24-year-old, who played an instrumental role in the Southern Tigers’ Super League triumph last year, initially left the club in March to make way for Patito Rodriguez.
According to a statement released on JDT’s official Facebook page on Saturday, the Argentine winger will return to help them in the 2015 AFC Cup campaign and arrive in Johor on Tuesday.
He will sign a new contract with the Malaysian side until 2017.
However, Diaz will not be able to participate in the remainder of the 2015 Malaysian Super League season or the upcoming Malaysia Cup because the M-League transfer window will not be open until the end of the year.
Should the 2014 Super League champions be knocked out between now and December, Diaz will be temporarily loaned out to a French or American club.
It was also confirmed that midseason loan signing Alhaji Kamara will return to his parent club in Sweden.
JDT will face Ayeyawady United in the Round of 16 of the AFC Cup on May 27th.
