Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) confirmed that the suspended star is set to train with Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
Gary, who has been suspended for three months from participating in all football activities under the Football Association of Malaysia’s jurisdiction after he signed for two different teams at the same time, will link up with the Bundesliga giants to keep himself fit until he serves the remainder of his suspension.
The move was made possible thanks to an on-going partnership between both clubs, which was announced at the end of last year.
However, a contract offer is unlikely to follow, as JDT were seemingly keen on retaining his services.
“We hope that Gary will use this opportunity to gain more exposure and experience, improve his game and contribute to JDT upon his return,” read an official statement posted on the club’s Facebook page.
