Four Malaysia Cup matches rescheduled

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have postponed all four 2014 Malaysia Cup matches originally scheduled on Friday (Aug 22) to the next day due to the National Day of Mourning.

The National Day of Mourning is held to honour and welcome home the remains of 20 Malaysians killed on the Flight MH17, a Malaysia Airlines plane that was shot down in eastern Ukraine on July 17, killing all 298 passengers and crew members on board.

As a sign of respect, the FAM rescheduled the Pahang-Felda United and JDT II-LionsXII matches in Group A.

Also affected were the Group C fixtures between Penang and JDT as well as ATM and Kelantan.

Besides the match between the Armed Forces and the Red Warriors, which would now be played at the Shah Alam Stadium instead of the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, the rest would take place at the original venues and kick-off time.
