The Sime Darby FC captain believes that his team will challenge the big guns in the Malaysia Super League.
Dubbed as the giant killers, Sime Darby FC want to forget about their ‘newcomer’ status for 2014 Super League, believing that they can perform well in the top league, said captain Juzaili Samion.
Juzaili also believes that Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) will be their biggest challenge to win the league with the players and the coach that the Southern Tigers have at their disposal.
According to Astro Arena, Juzaili said “I have full of confidence with my teammates. We are a great team. The main competitors are JDT, they have good players and (a) good coach. I am confident that we can give a good fight against the fan favourites."
The defender also gave praises to the combination of both local players and the import players for this season, saying that the performance of the squad looks promising after their pre-season camp in Indonesia and Vietnam.
“Through our friendly matches and training session in Indonesia and Vietnam, it can be seen that players are blending in well,” he added.
With the management of the team targeting a top half finish this season, Juzaili believes that with the crop of players that they have, they can go further than that.
This is the first time Sime Darby FC will feature in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2010.comments
