Kamara poised to join JDT on loan

IFK Norrköping striker Alhaji Kamara is set to join Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) until the end of the season.

The Swedish side released a statement on their official Facebook page on Tuesday, confirming that a deal is in place for the Sierra Leone international to join the Southern Tigers for the remainder of the 2015 M-League season, pending a medical.

They also revealed that the deal includes a recall option.

“There is a risk that we would be losing a very good player, but we received a good offer [from JDT]. From an economical perspective, it was an obvious decision,” said IFK Norrköping club director Magnus Karlsson.

Kamara, who will be turning 21 years old in April, has made 26 appearances for IFK Norrköping since joining the club in 2014, scoring 10 goals.

The transfer would mean that, as previously speculated, JDT striker Luciano Figueroa will be leaving the club after failing to recover from his long-term injury.
