Fan favourites Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman are heading up a list of Liverpool Legends who will take on a Singapore Legends selection at the Castlewood Group Liverpool Masters in Singapore on November 15.
The match will feature former Reds against a top selection of local footballing heroes, in a full 11-a-side match at Jalan Besar Stadium.
Dietmar Hamann, Steve Harkness, Patrik Berger, Stephane Henchoz and Vladimir Smicer also return after winning the Masters Cup last year, while there are plenty of new but familiar faces in Jerzy Dudek, Markus Babbel, Phil Babb and Dominic Matteo among others.
"I’ve played here on a few occasions and Singaporeans never cease to amaze me with their passion and knowledge of the English Premier League and Liverpool FC," Kop favourite Fowler said.
"The fans make me feel so welcome and it really pleases me to be able to play with my fellow Reds against Singapore football heroes.
"There are some special initiatives planned for spectators this year and I cannot wait to return to one of my favorite cities in Asia."
The Singapore team will be no slouches either, featuring household names like Fandi Ahmad, V. Sundramoorthy, Malek Awab, Nazri Nasir and Aleksandar Duric.
"Castlewood Group is proud to be the title sponsor of this year’s The Castlewood Group Liverpool Masters, following the success of last year’s tournament," said Chris Corner, Castlewood Group CEO.
"As Singapore goes from strength-to-strength as a global sporting hub, we hope to see more businesses give back to the local community through sporting ventures such as this, giving the supporters here a chance to get up close and personal with their stars."
Fans will be able to purchase tickets starting from $10 online at www.ticketbooth.com.sg, with anyone buying tickets before noon on November 11 eligible to enter a special draw held the next day.
Lucky winners will be awarded with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to dine with the teams, travelling with them on the team buses and even taking their places on the respective team benches during the match.
"Football is a big part of Singapore’s culture and it is encouraging to see fans from all walks of life come together to enjoy the beautiful game," said Steve Black, Masters Football Asia CEO.
"This year, we are pleased to be able to work with Castlewood Group and Carlsberg to deliver a world-class match that remains accessible for all football fans in Singapore.
"And with our added incentives this year, we hope this is one match the fans will never forget."
